Mission Statement
As the Student Government Association of Northern Kentucky University, we strive to fulfill our sworn duties to serve the student body by addressing its concerns, needs, and rights. While leading on a positive platform that is open, ethical and supportive, we place the student body's well being above all.
Student Government Association 2009-10 Goals
- Work with campus administration to investigate possible increases in student employment and scholarships.
- Examine the smoking policy and make a recommendation to move towards a smoke free campus.
- Examine the tuition model and discuss the impact on students and faculty of implementing per credit hour tuition.
- Support the efforts of the Campus Recreation Center in the funding, expansion or renovation of the recreational center.
- Continue working with Chartwells in investigating the possibility of providing meal transferability.
- Investigate the possibility of text book unbundling and making the ISBN available to students ahead of each academic semester.

Scott Wurster Book/Special Needs Grants
Applications Due – Monday, November 30th
In partnership with Follett Campus Bookstore, the Student Government Association is awarding the Scott Wurster Book/Special Needs Grants to students for the 2010 spring semester. All students enrolled for the 2009 fall semester and preregistered for the 2010 spring semester are eligible to submit a grant application. Applications are available at the Student Government Association Office, 330 Student Union, and Dean of Students Office, 301 Student Union. Scott Wurster Book/Special Needs Grant applications are due by 4:30pm on Monday, November 30th in the Dean of Students Office. For additional information concerning the grants, contact the Student Government office at 859-572-5149.
